File Formats and Delivery Options:
Original documents should preferably be
sent in electronic format, via e-mail. You may also mail or fax hard
copies if that is all you have. Please note that poor-quality copies
may incur extra fees if the text becomes difficult to read. I do
not translate handwritten material.
I deliver translations by e-mail, fax, mail or courier, at your
preference. I can deliver electronic documents in the following
formats:
Microsoft Word -
versions 2000 and above can be made Hebrew-compatible by changing a
few settings
PDF - this is
the preferred method when you need to view Hebrew text on a computer
system that is not set up to handle Hebrew characters. You can
download the free Acrobat Reader
here.
JPEG or GIFF - this is only
practical for very short translations of a few words
Turnaround Time:
Different factors
determine how long a translation project takes. These include the
length of the text, the amount of research needed, and
whether any special formatting is requested. As a general guideline,
I can normally translate a short document (up to approx. 10 pages)
within 2 business days. My average daily output for non-technical
material is 2,500 - 3,500 words.
I can commit to a
precise delivery date only after seeing the entire original
document.
Confidentiality:
I maintain the confidentiality of all
client information and translation projects. My files are not
accessible to anyone but myself, and
they are backed up daily to a password-protected remote site. I am
happy to sign a confidentially and non-disclosure agreement with any
client who requests it.
